The Taj Mahal: Taj Mahal is the number one tourist place in India. The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal in the year 1631 AD. The Taj Mahal is located in the Agra district of the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is counted among the seven wonders of the world. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his wife Mumtaz Mahal.


Ellora Caves: Under the Indian World Record located at a distance of about 30 km from Aurangabad city of Maharashtra state, is one of the oldest historical caves in India, locally known as Verul Leni. It is an important historical site that is famous all over the world and is a unique attraction in, the country. Ellora has a total of 34 caves which are inspired by Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain architecture, and is an ideal place for history lovers.

One of the most rock-cut cave temples in the world, Ellora Caves is a World Heritage Site. Talking about the construction of these caves, then these caves are the oldest caves in India which were constructed by the Rashtrakuta dynasty. The popularity of these caves can be gauged from the fact that thousands of tourists come daily to see this historical beauty of Maharashtra and these include international tourists.


Golden Temple of Amritsar: The Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple, in Amritsar is one of the most revered sites for Sikhs. The temple, also known as Darbar Sahib, was started in Amritsar in 1577 by the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das, and the fifth Guru Arjan established the temple. The construction of the temple began in 1581, it took eight years to complete the first version of the temple.


Jama Masjid: The city of Agra has a unique building of Mughal history. Jama Masjid, built in the heart of Agra city, is one of the major mosques of the city. Here the main Eid prayer is performed.

During the Mughal rule, Shah Jahan's Lakhte Jigar (eldest daughter) Jahanara had got the Jama Masjid built in 1648. Five lakh rupees were spent on the construction of the mosque at that time. Jama Masjid is made of red sandstone and is situated on a high platform. It has a big hall and a tank built in the middle of it.


Gadisar Lake: Gadisar Lake was built in the 13th century, at that time due to the lack of water in this vast desert of Rajasthan, the people here had to go through many difficulties for water. Then Maharawal Shri Gadsi Singh of Jaisalmer had got the Gadisar Lake constructed as a pond. Which is today known as Gadisar Lake and Gadisar Talab, after the formation of Gadisar Talab, the people here got a lot of support.

Shree Kashi Vishwanath: Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple is situated on the west bank of the holy river Ganges and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest of Shivmetal. The main deity is known by the name Vishwanath or Vishweshwar which means ruler of the universe. The city of Varanasi is also known as Kashi. Hence the temple is called Kashi Vishwanath Temple.


Ajanta Caves: The Ajanta Caves are Indian History located as a series of rock-cut caves in the Sahyadri ranges (Western Ghats) near the Waghora river near Aurangabad in Maharashtra. There are 29 caves (all Buddhist), of which 25 were used as viharas or residential caves while 4 were used as chaityas or prayer halls.


The Victoria Memorial: In Kolkata is one of the major tourist places in the city. Built-in memory of Queen Victoria, this beautiful structure is a museum and a tourist attraction. It is an iconic British monument built between 1906-1921 and its architecture impresses one and all. If you want to find yourself in the capital of the old British Raj, then you must visit this incredible Victoria Memorial.

Actually, like the Taj Mahal, the Victoria Memorial has also been built in Makrana Marbles, Rajasthan. The dome and its other architectural designs are similar to the design of the Taj.


Mysore Palace: The Mysore Palace is located at a distance of 140 km from Bangalore in the state of Karnataka in South India. This palace is a major center of attraction for tourists. Every year foreign tourists come from far and wide to see it.


This palace is also known as Amba Vilas Mahal. The Mysore Palace was built by Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV in 1897 AD. At that time it was made of sandalwood, but it was damaged in an accident. Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV and his mother Kampanan Jamni Devi entrusted the British architect Henry Irwin with the responsibility of building the second Mysore palace. The second palace was built in 1912.

At that time, 41.47 lakh rupees were spent on building this palace. The Mysore palace is 245 feet long and 156 feet wide.


Mcleodganj: There is a famous hill station named Mcleodganj near Dharamshala in Himachal. This hill station is very much liked by trekkers. Here the culture of Mcleodganj is somewhat British. McLeodganj is also home to many Tibetans, hence it is also called Little Lhasa. The main attractions to visit here include Kangra Fort, Bhagsunath Temple, Bhagsu Falls, Namgyal Monastery, Dalai Lama Temple Complex, HPCA Cricket Stadium, Tea Gardens of Kangra Valley, and Triund Trek.
